Start Your Fencing Journey
The Beginner Program at Sequoia Fencing Academy is designed for those new to the sport, with no prior experience required. Our structured curriculum introduces all aspects of fencing in a fun, supportive environment.
You'll learn basic footwork, blade work, tactics, and rules of the sport while developing coordination, balance, and strategy skills. By the end of the program, you'll have a solid foundation in fencing fundamentals and be ready to progress to the next level.

Option 1: Once Weekly

Class Structure
Our carefully designed class structure ensures progressive learning and skill development.
1. Warm-up and Stretches
Stretching and physical preparation to get your body ready for fencing. Includes dynamic stretches and basic coordination exercises.
2. Group Instruction
Learn fundamental fencing techniques through structured drills and exercises. Focus on proper form and basic movements.
3. Practice & Games
Apply what you've learned in fun, engaging activities and games. Practice with partners and develop your skills in a supportive environment.
What You'll Learn
Our comprehensive curriculum covers all essential aspects of fencing fundamentals.
Basic Footwork
On guard position, advances and retreats, lunges and extensions, distance control
Blade Work
Proper grip and hand position, basic attacks and parries, simple offensive actions, basic defensive techniques
Rules and Strategy
Fencing etiquette and safety, rules of right-of-way, bout structure and scoring, basic tactical concepts
Equipment
Proper use and care of equipment, safety procedures, introduction to electric scoring, equipment recommendations
